MCA01 IMO

MCA01 (Maritime Cyber Awareness 01) is one of the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) suite of mandatory cyber security requirements included in the International Safety Management (ISM) Code. This code is aimed at providing critical guidance to vessel owners and operators, port authorities and other organizations seeking to ensure the safety and security of maritime activities. MCA01 requires that organizations take a proactive approach to cyber security by implementing and implementing a range of protocols, such as restricting access to digital resources, identifying and addressing cyber security threats and implementing visible security measures, such as physical and digital security safeguards for vessels and equipment. MCA01 also governs how organizations should report cyber incidents to the relevant authorities and sets out the rules for sharing and disseminating cyber security information.
