Sparkfun Distance Sensor Modules
Distance sensor modules are electronic modules used to measure the distance between an object and the module. They are frequently used in robotics, automation, industrial applications and other electrical projects. They work by sending a pulse of light or sound waves to an object and measure how long it takes for the wave to bounce back. The wave is typically an infrared light or ultrasound, and depending on the type of sensor, it will convert the time it takes for the wave to bounce back into a distance that can be read off of the module. Distance sensor modules are used to measure the proximity of an object, the depth of an object, or the thickness of a material.
