Laird EMI Feedthrough Filters
EMI feedthrough filters are used to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) in electronic and electrical equipment. They are electronic filters installed between a signal line and ground or between two signal lines and prevent noise or signal loss. EMI feedthrough filters are made up of capacitors and inductors connected in such a way as to reduce high-frequency noise and allow lower-frequency signal to pass through, while the capacitors act as a barrier to the high-frequency noise. The inductors create an LC tank and allow only low frequencies to pass while blocking higher frequencies. EMI feedthrough filters are typically placed at the end of the signal cables to provide EMI immunity.
