The HT12E is an encoder integrated circuit designed and manufactured by Holtek Semiconductor Inc. It is part of a series of multi-function remote control encoder chips. The HT12E is used to transmit data to an appliance or device from a remote control for example. It works both as a transmitter and receiver, with 8 address bits and 4 data bits that can be customized for specific applications. It is commonly used in consumer applications such as computer peripherals, audio/visual equipment, motor controllers, etc.
