Stmicroelectronics Parity Functions
Parity functions are mathematical functions which, when given a set of binary numbers as an input, will output a single binary number. This single binary number is known as the parity bit and it is used to determine if the input contains an even or odd number of 1s or 0s. The parity function will return a “1” for an odd number of 1s or 0s, and a “0” for an even number. Parity functions are commonly used in error-detection algorithms in digital communication systems.
