Alpha Solder Sleeves & Shield Tubing
Solder sleeves and shield tubing provide an effective protection against electromagnetic interference. The solder sleeves are copper-plated sleeves that slip over electrical wire or cables. The sleeve is heated by a soldering iron or hot air gun, melting the solder that is contained within the sleeve. Once cool, the solder provides a reliable connection between the wire and the sleeve itself. Shield tubing is typically made of a plastic or metal material with a shielding layer. It may be used over a single wire or cable, or may be used as a wrap around multiple wires to provide protection from EMI. Like the solder sleeves, the shield tubing also helps protect against physical damage to the wires and promotes a secure connection.
