The CD74HCT273E is a high-speed CMOS Octal D-Type Flip-Flop designed using high-performance, silicon-gate CMOS technology. The device is designed to operate with power supplies ranging from 3V to 15V (with 5V or 3.3V logic levels). This Octal D-Type Flip-Flop is a significantly lower power and thus a more cost efficient device when compared to the existing 74F273. The device features clock (CP) and output enable (OE) inputs. The CP input is used to control data entry to the flip-flop and the OE input is provided for output control. The outputs are active only when the OE input is LOW, otherwise all outputs will be in the high-impedance state. The device is capable of transforming data from one form into another. This allows data to be stored and retransmitted in new formats. Such application cases include data latching, up/down counters, shift registers and data formatting circuits. The device is available in a 14-pin PDIP, SOIC and TSSOP packages. It is ideal for buffering data and address inputs to microprocessors and other digital ICs, and for use for logic timing and control signals.
