The AP5056SPER with SOP-8-EP is an ROHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant battery management integrated circuit manufactured by Chipown. It is a single chip solution for providing both charging and purebalance functions. The AP5056SPER includes an in-line overvoltage protection circuit to prevent overcharge, over-discharge, short-circuit, reverse polarity, overload and over-temperature conditions. It is capable of supporting multiple cell types, including 1S, 2S, and 3S Li-Ion/Li-Polymer battery packs, as well as small form factor (SO/DIP) NiMH and NiCd packs. It is suitable for use in smart phones, tablets, power banks, electric bicycles, and other applications requiring battery protection functions.
