’ ANT protocol
ANTUIF1 is part of the ANT protocol developed by Dynastream Innovations. ANTUIF1 is an Application User Interface Format (UIF) primarily designed for ANT applications such as fitness products and sports instruments. It is a compact method to transmit a maximum of 16 different data types in a single packet. It is intended to reduce development time and the amount of work required to integrate the ANT chip into a product. The ANTUIF1 data packet defines 8 bytes, allowing the sending of up to 16 pieces of data. Each piece of data can be up to 4 bytes and can represent a single logical state or a combination of a number of logical states such as an event, speed, rate, or altitude. ANTUIF1 also allows for the communication of three other basic formats: configuration, response and data, for a total of 23 different packet options.
