Littelfuse Sidacs

Sidacs (silicon avalanche diodes) are diodes made from silicon that are designed to protect against high voltage and high current surges. They are commonly used in power systems, such as lights, motors and switchgear, to provide protection from lightning strikes and other external voltages. They are capable of handling high currents without sustaining damage, and can be used to provide protection for overvoltage and transient conditions. Sidacs are rugged, reliable and relatively inexpensive, making them an ideal choice for surge protection applications.
