About LIN Transceivers
Analog Devices LIN Transceivers
A LIN transceiver is an interface between a Local Interconnect Network (LIN) bus and UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter). In a LIN bus system, a single master device is responsible for managing communications between nodes on the bus, and these nodes communicate using a single pair of unshielded wires. The master device sends and receives data packets on the LIN bus, and nodes on the bus respond to data packet sent by the LIN master device. The LIN transceiver functions as an intermediary between the master device and the LIN bus, translating data in and out of the LIN bus system. The transceiver is a passive device and requires a power supply to operate. The transceiver is typically used in automotive applications, and can be integrated with other system components such as a microcontroller and sensors to create a complete system.
