About UART Interface IC
Renesas UART Interface IC
UART Interface IC is an integrated chip which includes a universal asynchronous transmitter/receiver (UART) and other components to provide a complete interface between a microcontroller or other digital devices and an asynchronous serial port. It is used in communication between devices that are not synchronized with a clock signal, such as serial ports and personal computers. The UART is usually used for communication between computers and peripherals such as printers and modems, named “asynchronous serial” transmission. The UART Interface IC is programmed to be able to operate in different baud rates and its ability to set these baud rates are very important in determining its efficiency in using the available bandwidth. The UART also needs to be programmed to have the correct protocol which helps in the data transfer over serial communication. It also needs to be able to identify the start and stop bits during data transmission and the size of the data bits which it can send and receive.
