About Video Switch ICs
Diodes Incorporated Video Switch ICs
Video switch ICs, or video switching integrated circuits, are specialized integrated circuits (ICs) which are used to switch video signals between two or more input sources. They are often combined in switch matrices or multiplexers to allow switching of multiple video sources. Video switch ICs essentially detect the incoming signal and then route it to the other input ports of the circuit. The ICs are designed to handle both analog and digital video sources and can provide either analog or digital outputs. Common applications for video switch ICs include broadcast switching, video conferencing, surveillance systems, and home theater systems. In addition to handling multiple video sources, many video switch ICs also provide additional control functions such as transmission, timing, synchronization, and output linking.
