12-Channel, High Performance, Differential Output, 192 kHz, 24-Bit DAC Data Sheet ADAU1962 FEATURES GENERAL DESCRIPTION 118 dB DAC dynamic range The ADAU1962 is a high performance, single chip, digital- 98 dB THD + N to-analog converter (DAC) that provides 12 DACs with Differential voltage DAC output differential outputs using the Analog Devices, Inc., patented 2 2.5 V digital, 5 V analog, and 3.3 V or 5 V input/output multibit sigma-delta (-) architecture. A SPI/I C port is included, supplies allowing a microcontroller to adjust volume and many other 421 mW total quiescent power dissipation parameters. The ADAU1962 operates from 2.5 V digital, 5 V PLL generated or direct master clock analog and 3.3 V or 5 V input/output supplies. A linear regulator is Low EMI design included to generate the digital supply voltage from the analog Linear regulator driver to generate digital supply supply voltage. Supports 24-bit and 32 kHz to 192 kHz sample rates The ADAU1962 is designed for low electromagnetic interference Low propagation 192 kHz sample rate mode (EMI), evident in both the system and circuit design architectures. Log volume control with autoramp function By using the on-board phase-locked loop (PLL) to derive the Temperature sensor with digital readout: 3C accuracy internal master clock from an external left right frame clock 2 SPI and I C controllable for flexibility (LRCLK)/frame clock, the ADAU1962 eliminates the need for Software-controllable clickless mute a separate high frequency master clock and can be used with or Software power-down without a bit clock. The DACs are designed using the latest 2 Right justified, left justified, I S, and TDM modes Analog Devices continuous time architectures to further Master and slave modes with up to 12-channel input/output minimize EMI. By using 2.5 V digital supplies, power consumption 80-lead LQFP package is minimized and the digital waveforms are of a smaller amplitude, Qualified for automotive applications further reducing emissions. APPLICATIONS The ADAU1962 is available in an 80-lead LQFP package. Note Automotive audio systems that throughout this data sheet, multifunction pins, such as Home theater systems SCLK/SCL/SA, are referred to by the entire pin name or by a Digital audio effects processors single function of the pin, for example, SCLK, when only that function is relevant.
