Digital Controller for Isolated Power Supply Applications Data Sheet ADP1046 FEATURES GENERAL DESCRIPTION Integrates all typical PWM controller functions The ADP1046 is a flexible, digital secondary side controller 7 PWM control signals designed for ac-to-dc and isolated dc-to-dc secondary side Digital control loop applications. The ADP1046 is pin-compatible with the Integrated programmable loop filters ADP1043A and offers several enhancements and new features, Programmable voltage line feedforward including voltage feedforward, improved loop response, and Dedicated soft start filter programmable dead time control to maximize efficiency. Programmable dead time for improved efficiency The ADP1046 is optimized for minimal component count, Remote and local voltage sense maximum flexibility, and minimum design time. Features Primary and secondary side current sense include local and remote voltage sense, primary and secondary Synchronous rectifier control side current sense, digital pulse-width modulation (PWM) Current sharing generation, current sharing, and redundant OrFET control. The OrFET control control loop digital filter and compensation terms are integrated 2 I C interface 2 and can be programmed over the I C interface. Programmable Extensive fault detection and protection protection features include overcurrent protection (OCP), over- Extensive programming and telemetry voltage protection (OVP), undervoltage lockout (UVLO), and Fast digital calibration overtemperature protection (OTP). User accessible EEPROM The built-in EEPROM provides extensive programming of the APPLICATIONS integrated loop filter, PWM signal timing, inrush current, and AC-to-DC power supplies soft start timing and sequencing. Reliability is improved through Isolated dc-to-dc power supplies a built-in checksum and programmable protection circuits. Redundant power supply systems A comprehensive GUI is provided for easy design of loop Server, storage, network, and communications filter characteristics and programming of the safety features. infrastructure 2 The industry-standard I C bus provides access to the many monitoring and system test functions. The ADP1046 is available in a 32-lead LFCSP and operates from a single 3.3 V supply.
