DS1375 Rev 2 9/08 2 I C Digital Input RTC with Alarm General Description Features The DS1375 digital real-time clock (RTC) is a low-power RTC Counts Seconds, Minutes, Hours, Day, Date, clock/calendar that does not require a crystal. The Month, and Year with Leap-Year Compensation device operates from a digital clock input pin at one of Valid Up to 2100 four frequencies: 32.768kHz, 8.192kHz, 60Hz, or 50Hz. Two Programmable Alarms It maintains seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year information. The date at the end of the month Programmable Square-Wave Output is automatically adjusted for months with fewer than 31 Operates from a 32.768kHz, 8.192kHz, 60Hz, or days, including corrections for leap year. The clock operates in either the 24-hour or 12-hour format with an 50Hz Digital Clock Signal AM/PM indicator. Two programmable time-of-day/date 16 Bytes of SRAM alarms, a programmable square-wave output, and 16 2 bytes of SRAM are provided. Address and data are Fast (400kHz) I C Interface 2 transferred serially through an I C bidirectional bus. 1.7V to 5.5V Operation Applications Ordering Information RTC Complement to the DS32kHz TCXO PART TEMP RANGE PIN-PACKAGE TOP MARK Utility Meters DS1375T+ -40C to +85C 6 TDFN-EP* DS1375 Appliances +Denotes a lead-free/RoHS-compliant package. These are stress ratings only, and functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions beyond those indicated in the operational sections of the specifications is not implied. Exposure to absolute maximum rating conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability. RECOMMENDED DC OPERATING CONDITIONS (V = +1.7V to +5.5V, T = -40C to +85C, unless otherwise noted. Typical values are at V = 3.3V, T = +25C, unless other- CC A CC A wise noted.) Note 2: All voltages are referenced to ground. Note 3: For the CLK pin, input voltages above V + 0.3V cause current to flow into the device. The input current must not CC exceed the current drawn by the circuit that is connected to V . Otherwise, current flows out of the DS1375, raising the CC voltage level on the V bus. CC Note 4: V on the CLK pin can exceed -0.3V as long as the current is limited to less than 1mA. IL MIN Note 5: I SCL clocking at max frequency = 400kHz. CCA Note 6: CLK pin running at 32,768Hz, rise and fall times at 10ns or less. 2 Note 7: Specified with I C bus inactive. 2 DS1375
