LT3024 Dual 100mA/500mA Low Dropout, Low Noise, Micropower Regulator FEATURES DESCRIPTION n Low Noise: 20V (10Hz to 100kHz) The LT 3024 is a dual, micropower, low noise, low dropout RMS n Low Quiescent Current: 30A/Output regulator. With an external 0.01F bypass capacitor, output n Wide Input Voltage Range: 1.8V to 20V noise drops to 20V over a 10Hz to 100kHz bandwidth. RMS n Output Current: 100mA/500mA Designed for use in battery-powered systems, the low 30A n Very Low Shutdown Current: <0.1A quiescent current per output makes it an ideal choice. In n Low Dropout Voltage: 300mV at 100mA/500mA shutdown, quiescent current drops to less than 0.1A. n Adjustable Outputs from 1.22V to 20V Shutdown control is independent for each output, allowing n Stable with 1F/3.3F Output Capacitor for exibility in power management. The device is capable n Stable with Aluminum, Tantalum or of operating over an input voltage range of 1.8V to 20V. The Ceramic Capacitors device can supply 100mA of output current from Output n Reverse Battery Protected 2 with a dropout voltage of 300mV. Output 1 can supply n No Reverse Current 500mA of output current with a dropout voltage of 300mV. n No Protection Diodes Needed Quiescent current is well controlled in dropout. n Overcurrent and Overtemperature Protected The LT3024 regulator is stable with output capacitors as n Thermally Enhanced 16-Lead TSSOP and 12-Lead low as 1F for the 100mA output and 3.3F for the 500mA (4mm 3mm) DFN Packages output. Small ceramic capacitors can be used without the series resistance required by other regulators. APPLICATIONS Internal protection circuitry includes reverse-battery n Cellular Phones protection, current limiting, thermal limiting and reverse n Pagers current protection. The device is available as an adjust- n Battery-Powered Systems able device with a 1.22V reference voltage. The LT3024 n Frequency Synthesizers regulator is available in the thermally enhanced 16-lead n Wireless Modems TSSOP and 12-lead, low pro le (4mm 3mm 0.75mm) L, LT, LTC and LTM are registered trademarks of Linear Technology Corporation.
