LT3083 Adjustable 3A Single Resistor Low Dropout Regulator FEATURES DESCRIPTION n Outputs May be Paralleled for Higher Current and The LT 3083 is a 3A low dropout linear regulator that can Heat Spreading be paralleled to increase output current or spread heat n Output Current: 3A on surface mounted boards. Architected as a precision n Single Resistor Programs Output Voltage current source and voltage follower, this new regulator n 50A Set Pin Current: 1% Initial Accuracy finds use in many applications requiring high current, n Output Adjustable to 0V adjustability to zero, and no heat sink. The device also n Low Output Noise: 40V (10Hz to 100kHz) brings out the collector of the pass transistor to allow RMS n Wide Input Voltage Range: 1.2V to 23V low dropout operationdown to 310mVwhen used (DD-Pak and TO-220 Packages) with multiple supplies. n Low Dropout Voltage: 310mV A key feature of the LT3083 is the capability to supply n <1mV Load Regulation a wide output voltage range. By using a reference cur- n <0.001%/V Line Regulation rent through a single resistor, the output voltage is pro- n Minimum Load Current: 1mA grammed to any level between zero and 23V (DD-PAK n Stable with Minimum 10F Ceramic Capacitor and TO-220 packages).
