Evaluates: MAX5422/MAX5423/MAX5424 19-4171 Rev 0 6/08 MAX5422 Evaluation Kit General Description Features The MAX5422 evaluation kit (EV kit) is an assembled Power-On Recall of Wiper Position from and tested PCB that evaluates the MAX5422 IC. The Nonvolatile Memory MAX5422 is a 50k 256-tap, nonvolatile, linear digital 2.7V to 5.25V Single-Supply Operation potentiometer communicating over SPI. The MAX5422 features an internal nonvolatile EEPROM On-Board USB Interface Circuit for SPI- used to store the potentiometers wiper position for ini- Compatible Signals tialization during power-up. The EEPROM is pro- Proven USB-PC Connection for Power and grammed through the SPI-compatible serial interface, Control (USB Cable Included) communicating at data rates up to 5MHz. The SPI sig- nals can be transmitted through an on-board USB inter- Main Circuit Breakout Board face circuit using a computer or a user-supplied SPI PCB Headers for User-Supplied SPI-Compatible bus along with PCB headers on the EV kit. Signals The EV kit also features Windows 2000/XP/Vista -com- PCB Pads for Potentiometer Signals L, W, and H patible software that provides a professional user inter- face for exercising the MAX5422s features. The program Evaluates the MAX5422ETA/MAX5423ETA/ is menu driven and offers a graphical user interface MAX5424ETA in 3mm x 3mm x 0.8mm, 8-Pin (GUI) complete with buttons, track bars, and spin boxes.
