The MAX7219CNG+ is an 8-digit LED display driver serially interfaced with Analog Devices Inc. The device is designed to drive common-cathode LED displays and can interface with a microcontroller or other digital logic. It features built-in display decoding, multiplexing scan rates, and display brightness control via pulse-width modulation (PWM). The display can be cascaded for multi-digit displays and the device can also be used to drive LED matrices. The device features an on-board regulator to allow operation at/around a 2.7V supply voltage, saving space and component costs. The device is an ideal solution for displaying 8-digit numeric data or other graphics.
