The Autonics BS3-U1R is a NPN output, 5mm range, photoelectric sensor with DARK-ON/LIGHT-ON response and 50mA current draw. It is intended for general-purpose sensing applications, and its output is activated when an object approaches or contacts the sensing range. The device can detect objects from a distance up to 5mm thanks to its built-in infrared LED and receiver, and can also detect objects in complete darkness with its DARK-ON feature. The output of this sensor is switching, so it features HIGH and LOW states which can be used to trigger processes and convey information.
