ElectronicsThe BTC102N is a Discharge Tube (GDT/TSS) 1812 manufactured by Bourne Electronics. It is a RoHS compliant electronic part that is designed to protect electronic components and circuits from overvoltage, overcurrent, and transients. The device consists of three electrodes that are embedded in a glass envelope filled with gas. When there is an overvoltage, overcurrent, or transient event, the device will instantly fire and direct the energy away from the protected circuit. This helps to ensure that components and circuits are not damaged due to sudden voltage spikes or electrical transients. The BTC102N is a great choice for many applications, such as power supplies, industrial machinery, switchgear, computers, robotics, automotive electronics, aircraft, and more.
