ED-516 is an Ethernet-to-RS-232 serial device server manufactured by Brainboxes. It enables users to remotely control signal devices or other equipment with a serial interface over an Ethernet network. The ED-516 has a "true" serial port, allowing it to support serial software for applications, such as point-of-sale terminals, barcode scanners, RFID systems, and peripheral devices. It has a speed of up to 921.6 Kbps and can support up to 16 concurrent analog and digital connections, including serial and Ethernet, depending on the configuration. It also has built-in TCP/IP network protocols and is designed for use in harsh industrial environments, including those with fluctuating temperatures, dust, and electromagnetic interference.
