The Broadcom HSMC-A401-U80M1 is an Embedded Programmable System-on-Chip (ePSoC) that combines Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) technology. The device consists of a Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA, ARM Cortex-A9 processor and peripherals (e.g. SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet MAC and USB Host/Device of which up to four can be individually configured). This device provides high system integration and is ideal for a wide range of embedded applications such as industrial control, medical devices, network security, signal processing and smart energy. This device is also RoHS compliant and available in a small form factor 32-ball BGA package, making it ideal for space constrained applications.
