The Chipanalog CA-IF4820HS is a RS-485/RS-422-compatible serial interface IC packaged in an SOIC-8 (Small Outline Integrated Circuit) form factor and is RoHS-compliant. It supports full-duplex data transmission, with bi-directional data flow rates up to 500Kbps. The device features 256-byte FIFO’s for data transmit and receive, and the integrated control logic simplifies communication between two microprocessors.
