The SG-51P is an integrated circuit chip manufactured by Epson. It is a 16-Megahertz (MHz) CMOS Sound Generator that is used to produce sound and music in electronic devices such as synthesizers, computers, and gaming systems. The SG-51P contains eight voices and up to 232 user-defined waveforms. Its features include a dedicated 32-bit register set, polyphony, programmable ADSR parameters, and onboard LFO and envelope generators. It also has an external envelope-generator input, which can be used to provide additional modulation to the built-in waveforms. The SG-51P has a 20-pin DIP package.
