FAR 1500 is part of FARUN D&S (Determination & Standby GSA FAR Part 1500) and is designed to provide specific guidance for the Department of Defense (DoD) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) supervised acquisition program. FAR1500 establishes procedures, regulations and guidance related to contracting, purchasing and vendor management. The purpose of FAR 1500 is to ensure that government purchases are conducted efficiently, effectively and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. In particular, this part outlines requirements related to pre-award requirements, negotiation and acquisition of supplies, services and construction, contractor performance and management of contracts, payment of contractors and awarded contract modifications.
