The LM317A is a TO-220 Linear voltage regulator manufactured by FeiHong. It is RoHS compliant, an acronym for Restriction of Hazardous Substances, meaning that it is manufactured without components that are environmentally hazardous. It is designed to provide a constant output voltage of 1.25V to 37V at currents up to 1.5A. It features both over and short circuit protection, thermal overload protection, and current limiting. It is designed to be easy to use and requires only two external resistors to set the output voltage. The LM317A is ideal for applications such as battery packs, adjustable power supplies, and power sensors.
