product The GS2100MIP-SHIELD is a small form factor Wi-Fi & BLE module through-hole shield manufactured by Gainspan. It is composed of the GS2100MIP module, an MCU with integrated power-efficient Wi-Fi & BLE controller and a PCB with 32 expansion pins, to extend its capabilities. This shield simplifies the Wi-Fi & BLE device development, allowing easy access on all necessary pins from the MCU and complete the system design with few additional components. The GS2100MIP-SHIELD supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n WLAN protocol and Bluetooth 4.2 (BLE). It allows a smart device to easily connect to a Wi-Fi network, enabling quick, cost effective and secure network access from the Internet of Things. It can also be used to extend range and increase throughput significantly over a standard 802.11 b/g/n solution.
