GPS2BHAT is a system heat transfer analysis software suite developed by General Electric (GE) for the analysis of thermal and fluid systems. This software suite performs full 3D simulation of a system and provides detailed results for process engineers to understand how to make the system run more efficiently and cost effectively. The analysis simulation process is split into two portions: the BHAT (Boundary Heat And Temperature) analysis module and the GPS (Generalized Pressure Solution) solver.
The BHAT module performs a computed thermal conduction analysis of the boundary conditions that define the heat transfer throughout the system. This model can generate temperature, convective heat transfer, radiation, and pressure distributions. Additionally, the BHAT model can account for different materials and their thermal non-linearities.
The GPS portion of the software solves the governing equations for pressure, velocity and temperature simultaneously. This allows for a more accurate analysis of the heat transfer within the system. The pressure solution also enables the calculation of losses in the system due to turbulence and drag which can have a large impact on system efficiency.
GPS2BHAT is a powerful simulation tool that helps engineers understand how their designs impact the thermal processes in their systems. It is highly customizable, allowing engineers to use their own assumptions and technical data to perform more accurate and precise simulations. Additionally, its graphical user interface makes it easy to use and understand.
