G2118 Global Mixed-mode Technology Sync. Rectifier Step Up Converter Features General Description Up to 92% Efficiency at V = 5V from 3.3V Input The G2118is a compact, high-efficiency, synchronous OUT Low Quiescent Current 100A step-up converter with power Mosfets embedded and Guaranteed 3A Output Current at V = 5V with output turn off true shutdown function and ad- OUT from 3.3V Input justable output current limiting with foldback for a sin- 520KHz PWM Switching Frequency gle-cell Li-ion/polymer battery. The G2118 uses only Synchronous and Embedded Power Mosfets 100 A (typ) quiescent current and allows the converter No Schottky Diode Required to switch only when needed at no load and light loads, Internal Soft-Start to Limit Inrush Current and when load is higher than 100mA, it uses Adjustable Output fixed-frequency PWM technique at 500KHz. It features Output turn off true shutdown function a current mode control for fast transient response with Current Mode Operation with Internal Com- internal compensation. The G2118 includes cy- pensation for Excellent Line and Load Transi- cle-by-cycle current limit to maximum inductor current ent Response and over-temperature protection circuit. The G2118 is Overload/Short-Circuit Protection with hiccup suitable for iPad-like computers, smart phones and control portable handheld devices.
