The microphone element is designed as a back electret condenser microphone, meaning it has an externally polarized condenser element that utilizes permanently charged material on the backplate of the diaphragm in order to generate an output signal. The audio preamp is an on-chip, low noise, low distortion and low power amplifier designed specifically for this microphone element. This microphone is RoHS compliant and is built for use in a variety of heavy-duty and industrial applications. It is able to detect audible sounds from a range of 250 Hz to 20 kHz, with a maximum operating sound pressure level of 115 dB.
