IC120122 is a low-cost, easy-to-use, compact embedded power factor correction circuit. It is designed to reduce harmonic distortion of non-linear loads in mains networks. It is intended to be used together with a dc/dc or ac/dc converter, such as an Electrical Filter, and can improve the performance of such equipment without a lot of effort. IC120122 contains several integrated modules to enable power factor correction in a single package. These modules include a PFC charge pump, a current mode controller, an oscillator and a synchronous rectifier. It can also be configured as a two-stage PFC controller with a current mode PFC stage and a voltage mode PFC stage. The IC can be used in a wide range of applications, from residential to industrial, with power levels ranging from 10W to 500W.
