The SST553-02 is an optical sensor manufactured by Kodenshi and is RoHS compliant. It is a through-hole device with two leads that forms part of an electrical circuit. The SST553-02 uses a light source and a photo-detector to detect the presence or absence of an object within the detection range. It then sends an electrical signal used by other components in the circuit. The device is designed to detect presence in any of the four operating modes available. The SST553-02 also features high speed response and high noise immunity.
