The V250LU2P Varistor is manufactured by Littelfuse and is a radial, 7mm-sized device designed to protect electronic circuits and equipment from voltage transients generated by external sources such as lightning, electrostatic discharge and electrical power surges. The V250LU2P has a maximum DC voltage rating of 250V and a clamping voltage (Vcmax) of 290V, a current rating of 44A and a significant energy absorption capability of 40J. It's capable of responding to transient surge voltages and suppressing their amplitudes to under the equipment clamp voltage, thus preventing the destruction of equipment due to overvoltage surge.
