The MagnTek MT8161A is a TO-92 RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant magnetic sensor. It is suitable for applications such as motor speed or position sensing, motor protection, motor and generator control, and sensing current or voltage. This device is composed of a Hall-effect sensing element, a voltage regulator, and a temperature sensor. The Hall-effect sensing element converts magnetic phenomena into analog or digital electrical signals. The voltage regulator maintains a stable power supply over wide operating temperature and voltage conditions. The temperature sensor allows the user to track the device's temperature. The MT8161A has an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C and a maximum sensitivity of 150 mV/Gauss.
