’s algorithm Marquardt's algorithm, also known as the Levenberg–Marquardt algorithm, is an iterative method used to solve non-linear least-squares problems. 1801.0157 is part of the algorithm which addresses the problem of the cost function departing far from the minimum. In this part, it reduces the step size in Marquardt's algorithm, also known as the damping factor, making the step size small enough to avoid leaving the area of convergence.
