24AA08H-I/MS is an eight-Kbit serial electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) from Microchip Technology, Inc. It stores up to 1024 bytes of data and is organized as 128 pages of 8 bytes each, and it is offered in the 8-pin SOIC, 8-pin PDIP, and 8-pin TSSOP packages. It uses only a single 2.5V supply for both read and write operations, so no external Vpp or Vcc and is guaranteed to retain data for up to 200 years. The device provides an additional pin which can be used to protect the data from accidental write or erase. The device utilizes a proprietary protocol which allows data to be transferred in a single cycle and features a full array of functions such as acknowledge polling, address auto-increment/decrement, and write protection.
