The 24LC08B-E/SN is an 8-Kbit serial EEPROM from Microchip Technology. It is an I2CTM compatible serial memory. It features a 2-wire serial interface and 8Kbits of memory organized as 1024x8. Accessing the memory is simple and flexible, allowing the user to read and write 8-bit or 16-bit words. Its write operation can be controlled through the use of the dedicated write protect pin, allowing the user to write protect the entire memory or some portion of it. For applications where devices are replaced often, the low voltage write protect allows the user to prevent reprogramming of the device when the VCC is removed. Its low power consumption of the 24LC08B-E/SN meets the needs of modern battery-powered applications. It operates on a voltage range of 2.5 to 5.5V and its typical maximum active current consumption is 5mA. With a write protection pin in place, its standby current consumption is typically 1uA.
