The MIC5801YV is a linear voltage regulator from Microchip. It is designed to convert an unregulated input from 8V to 30V into a regulated output of 5V at up to 1.5A of current. Its low cost and high efficiency make it suitable for a wide range of applications including distributed power systems, industrial automation and instrumentation, consumer electronics, and more. This regulator also has a low output voltage ripple and low dropout voltage, making it a reliable power source. It also includes overvoltage, reverse current, and thermal protection features to ensure system reliability.
