The VSC8488YJU is a multi-rate 24-channel linear T1/E1 framer/multi-service processor system-on-chip (SoC) from Microchip. It is suitable for wire-line access, wireless communications, private networks, multiplexers, OCU/ radio base stations and network termination systems. It features built-in packet processing, protocol termination, a fully integrated SOHO stack, ready-to-use applications, and support for high-speed WAN/MAN standards, including T1/E1, T3/E3, SONET/SDH, ATM, and IP over Ethernet. The VSC8488YJU also provides advanced network convergence, which enables communication between TDM, ATM, and Ethernet-based networks.
