TH2106 is an advanced course in microelectronic circuit design. It covers topics such as device and circuit characterization and reliability, CMOS and BiCMOS device parameters and Design for Testability (DFT) and Design for Reliability (DFR). It also provides an overview of VLSI design and the associated tools. The course is based on a typical top-down design methodology and includes hands-on design of Microtransistors and Microprocessors. The topics covered include: bipolar and CMOS device physics, device characterization, design of dc, small signal and switching circuits, timing and noise analysis, layout design, testing and failure analysis, and fabrication and packaging of integrated circuits.
