REFER TO MP173A DESCRIPTION FEATURES Primary-Side CV Control, Supporting Buck, MP173 is a primary-side regulator that provides Boost, Buck-Boost, and Flyback Topologies accurate constant voltage (CV) regulation Integrated 700 V MOSFET and Current without an opto-coupler. It supports buck, boost, Source buck-boost, and flyback topologies. It has an < 30 mW No-Load Power Consumption integrated 700 V MOSFET to simplify the structure and reduce cost. These features make Up to 4 W Output Power it an ideal regulator for offline, low-power Maximum DCM Output Current Less than applications, such as home appliances and 180 mA standby power. Maximum CCM Output Current Less than 280 mA MP173 is a green-mode-operation regulator. Low VCC Operating Current Both the peak current and switching frequency Frequency Foldback decrease as the load decreases. This feature Limited Maximum Frequency provides excellent efficiency at light load and Peak-Current Compression improves the overall average efficiency. Internally Biased VCC MP173 has various protection features TSD, UVLO, OLP, SCP, Open-Loop including thermal shutdown (TSD), VCC under- Protection voltage lockout (UVLO), overload protection (OLP), short-circuit protection (SCP), and open- APPLICATIONS loop protection.
