MP3393 8-String Step-Up White LED Driver with External Transistor The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES 9V-to-32V Input Voltage Range The MP3393 is a step-up controller with 8 Drives 8 Channels of LED strings current channel sources designed to power Internal Constant-Current Control WLED backlights for large LCD panels. Maximum Channel Current Over 350mA The MP3393 uses current-mode fixed-frequency 1.2% Current Matching Accuracy Between architecture. It drives an external MOSFET to Strings boost the output voltage. The switching frequency Programmable Switching Frequency is programmable by an external setting resistor. Analog Dimming and External PWM The MP3393 integrates a constant-current control Dimming circuit to regulate the current in each LED string Open and Short LED Protection to the value set by an external current feedback Programmable Over-Voltage Protection resistor. Current matching can achieve 1.2% Fault Output Flag regulation accuracy between strings. Its low Thermal Shutdown 202mV regulation voltage reduces power loss Extendable LED Channels that Share One and improves efficiency. Power Stage Set The MP3393 includes protections including TSSOP28EP and SOIC28 Packages under-voltage lockout, LED open/short protection, APPLICATIONS and thermal shutdown. The fault flag pin indicates the statuses of all fault signals. Flat Panel Video Displays LCD TVs and Monitors The MP3393 can be daisy-chained to expand the number of LED channels.
