MP3399 12-String, Cascading White LED Driver For Extending LED Channels The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES 12 String, 60mA/String WLED Driver The MP3399 is a step-up controller with 12- channel current sources designed for driving Cascading Capability with a single Power the WLED arrays for large size LCD panel Source backlighting applications. The MP3399 is 5V to 28V Input Voltage Range flexible for extending LED channels with two or Maximum 60mA for Each String more MP3399s in parallel while operating from 2.5% Current Matching Accuracy Between a single Inductor power source. Strings Programmable Switching Frequency The MP3399 uses current mode, fixed frequency PWM or DC Input Burst PWM Dimming architecture. The switching frequency is Open and Short LED Protection programmable by an external frequency setting Programmable Over-voltage Protection resistor. It drives an external MOSFET to boost Under Voltage Lockout up the output voltage from a 5V to 28V input supply. The MP3399 regulates the current in Thermal Shutdown each LED string to the programmed value set by 28-pin TSSOP and 28-pin SOIC Package an external current setting resistor. APPLICATIONS The MP3399 applies 12 internal current Desktop LCD Flat Panel Displays sources for current balance. And the current Flat Panel Video Displays matching can achieve 2.5% regulation accuracy LCD TVs and Monitors between strings.
