MP4689 100V Input, 1A High Power LED Driver The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP4689 is a high voltage input step-down Wide 4.5V to 100V Operating Input Range switching regulator to deliver a constant current No Output Capacitor Required of up to 1A to high power LEDs. It integrates a 3% LED Current Accuracy high-side high voltage power MOSFET with a Hysteretic Control: No Compensation current limit of 2.9A (typical value). The wide Up to 1MHz Switching Frequency 4.5V to 100V input range accommodates a Up to 20kHz Dimming Frequency variety of step-down applications, making it Dedicated PWM Dimming Control Input ideal for automotive, industrial and general Short Circuit Protection with Integrated High lighting applications. Hysteresis current mode Side MOSFET control is applied for very fast response, which Thermal Shut Down makes the 20kHz dimming frequency possible. 200mV Reference Voltage for High MPSs proprietary feedback control scheme Efficiency minimizes the number of external components Up to 95% Efficiency while delivering a LED current with typical 3% 170 A Quiescent Current accuracy. Available in SOIC-8 with Exposed Pad The switching frequency is up to 1MHz, thus Package allowing for small component size. The thermal shut down and short circuit protection provide APPLICATIONS reliable, fault tolerant operations. A 170A High Power LED Driver quiescent current allows its use in battery- Automotive, Industry and General Lighting powered applications.
