The PRF21BA471QB5RA PTC thermistor manufactured by Murata is a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) thermistor with a resistance of 470 Ohms at 50% rated voltage (50% of 32 Volts). It combines a high surge current withstanding capability, fast response and low insulation resistance. It is used to protect circuits against over-current or over-voltage by providing over-current protection. Murata has designed this thermistor specifically for automotive applications, for use when circuit protection is required against abnormal temperatures. It is a flame-resistant, glass-encased, thermally sensitive resistor that can detect changes in temperature. The thermistor is environmentally compatible and can withstand extremeAmbient temperatures. It is an ideal choice for applications that require over-current protection and long-term reliability.
