The 74LV164PW.112 is a 8-bit parallel-in/parallel-out shift register with a power-down feature. It is part of Nexperia's low voltage logic family and is designed to operate with a supply voltage of between 1.65V and 3.6V. The chip has an output enable pin that allows for multiple, serial-in/parallel-out register capabilities. The output enable also enhances applications such as safe I/O buffering and short circuit protection in high-speed, high-side switching configurations. This chip features very low static power dissipation and low noise margins. It is ideal for applications that require a large number of outputs and/or wide data buses.
