July 2014 FL7733 Primary-Side-Regulated LED Driver with Power Factor Correction Description Features This highly integrated PWM controller with advanced High Performance Primary-Side Regulation (PSR) technique provides Cost-Effective Solution without Requiring Input Bulk features to enhance the performance of low-to-mid- Capacitor and Secondary Feedback Circuitry power LED lighting converter. The FL7733 LED driver is designed with minimum system components while LED Power Factor Correction current is accurately controlled by Fairchilds THD <10% Over Universal Line Range TRUECURRENT technique and improved feedback loop control. Constant Current (CC) tolerance less than Constant Current Tolerance: 1% over the universal line voltage range meets the < 1% Over Universal Line Voltage Variation requirement of highly reliable LED brightness management. < 1% by 50% - 100% Load Voltage Variation < 1% by 20% Magnetizing Inductance Variation By minimizing turn-on time fluctuation, high power factor, and low THD <10% THD over the universal line High-Voltage Startup with V Regulation DD range can be obtained. An integrated high-voltage Adaptive Feedback Loop Control for Startup without startup circuit implements fast startup and high system Overshoot efficiency. During startup, adaptive feedback loop control anticipates the steady-state condition and sets High Reliability initial feedback condition close to the steady state to LED Short / Open Protection ensure no overshoot or undershoot of LED current. Output Diode Short Protection The FL7733 provides powerful protections, such as LED short / open, output diode short, sensing resistor short / Sensing Resistor Short / Open Protection open, and over-temperature for high system reliability. V Over-Voltage Protection (OVP) DD The FL7733 controller is available in an 8-pin Small- V Under-Voltage Lockout (UVLO) DD Outline Package (SOP).
