The MOC8204M is an optically coupled isolation device manufactured by ON Semiconductor. It consists of an infrared light emitting diode driving an integrated planar photo detector. This device is designed for high speed, low power operation and has a isolation voltage specification of 7500Vrms. It has a CTR (Current Transfer Ratio) minimum (Ic/If) of 100%. Additionally, its power dissipation is maximum 230 mW. The device is available in a 4-pin mini flat lead package. It is designed for a variety of applications such as isolating power lines and protecting industrial control circuits against voltage transients.
